As someone with fair skin, I had my fair share of sunburns growing up. I was always envious of people who were able to tan easily, and I attempted to achieve the same results for myself in tanning beds, with self-tanners, and with the Mystic Tan. I was never fully satisfied with the results. I swore off tanning beds all together towards the end of college after a friend was diagnosed with skin cancer due to regular tanning bed use.
I found Ortanic shortly after they opened at Equinox in 2008. During my first appointment, I first received a personalized skin consultation with Danni. We discussed my skin history and the "look" I was hoping to achieve. She mixed up a tanning formula based on our conversation. I really appreciated this personalized attention and that the formula was specific to my preference. After the spraying was completed, I was told not to shower or engage in any activity that would cause me to sweat for the next 8-10 hours. As some other reviews have mentioned, the tan will get darker for the next few hours - do not panic. These bronzers will come off in the shower, and you will be left with a flawless, natural looking tan.
I have been 100% devoted to Ortanic for all of my tanning needs since my first visit. I plan to go before all special events when I know I will be photographed a lot and anytime I just need a little boost to my complexion. I've seen at least 5 different consultants, and they're all amazing. I typically schedule my appointments in the evening then go home and put my pj's on and shower the next morning.
